i may be going to ireland for st patricks day, and i wanted to know is it fun over there, liek what would you do. i'd be going to a small village in roscommon, so i woudlnt really be near dublin but i'd be close enough to galway city and sligo. just wondering if it'd be worth it to go over there for st. paddy's day. i mean i live right near nyc and all the towns around me have parades and stuff. its not a matter of going to ireland because i've been there a bunch of times and absolutly love it, i just have to convince my sister that it'll be fun if we go for st paddys day

ps. i'd be going with my familyy & i'd be turning 17 while i was there so i'd pretty much be able to drink

  1. If yer looking for a big ado on paddy's day Dublin is the way forward - otherwise it's like a parade with the local boyscout troop! =) That was true in Limerick anyway!

  2. To be honest...they don't make it as big of a deal as America or any other countries.

  3. Galway will be lovely for paddy's day and if you are 17 you will totally get away with drinking if you wanna ;), a small village in roscommon prob won't have much on but Galway will be great, its a real ecclectic, creative, laid back city. Enjoy!

  4. wheather usually c**p pretty much like the simspons eposide

small village in rosscoomon wont ..have a much of a parade so everyone hits the pubs and let the mayhem begin.

  5. the west is the best for paddys goin there every year since i was little never get tired of it

  6. Dublin is c**p, full of scangers fighting and drinking to much.

Most irish people become the stereotypical drunken irish on that day.

While small towns here dont have the glamour of dublin at least they are more in keeping with irish life.

Half the stuff in the Dublin parade is to give no talent people who work with crepe papre and paper machaé something to do for 364 days of the year, These "arts" groups are pointless and rarely offer something different.

The legal drinking age here is 18, expect some carding around st patricks day, but you will probably get away with it.
