  1. Things to consider in all trauma patient:

immediate check for signs of life like breathing and pulses

quick estimate of blood pressure and blood loss

location of the shot and bleeding source must be initially and temporarily applied pressure to lessen more losses

    intravenous fluid if necessary

If patient is resuscitated, then may do procedures and diagnostics

If shot in the abdomen, sent to operating table

If shot in the chest, insert a tube, evaluate for blood loss and perform chest surgery only for certain conditions(limited with space here)

If shot in other parts of the body, it depends whether there is actual deformity and/or violation of blood vessels which can render severe blood loss, in such cases operation is done.

If shot in areas where there is no limitation of movement, no fracture of the bones, no severe blood loss, good pulses, leave the bullet behind becoz the surgery might be that necessary.  You can live with bullets on and still live long without problem

  2. It depends where the gunshot is.  The EMT do most of the pleminary things such as an iv and stopping the bleeding in the ambulance

  3. well personally i been shot in the stomach 2 years ago so when i went they were asking me if i was ok and stuff while getting me ready for the OR. i was knocked out and woke up a month later in ICU. i was 14 at the time
