What is sterling and how is it different then pounds ?

i'm traveling to london by myself 1st time out of the country and i have to get a cab or whatever to get to my destination . Is everything in another lanuage or will i be able to make it ?

Whats the best place to switch over to pounds ? in the uNited states or in london ...

  1. Sterling is the name of the currency which is then made up of pounds and pence, just as your currency is called the US dollar and is made up of dollars and cents.  It's probably best to shop around for a good exchange rate, but I find that the cheapest way is to pre-order my currency and then pick it up at the airport.  It's probably best to get cash before you come here as dollars will not be accepted in the cab and so you will need something to pay with.

    As of course everything won't be in a different language.  London is in England which just happened to invent the English language.  What did you think we speak over here?!
