When you watch the financial channel on tv, you see the streaming quotes at the bottom of the tv.   The idea is that you are getting the most recent value for each stock so you can make a decision to buy or sell.  30 years ago you read the stock quotes in the newspaper.  When you told your stockbroker to "buy" ,  the price might be a lot different than when you made your decision.  The streaming of a single stock shows you if it is trending up or down and how many people are buying it at that moment.  

Execution means to "execute a trade".  You bought or sold a stock.  

If you have never done it,  get $100 and buy a stock.  Any stockbroker will help you.  Or find a local company that sells stock direct.  In Arizona the mining company sells stock itself
