  1. strike.....

not effective (empirically tested) in the state of west bengal in india...because there are so many strikes being called at the drop of a hat that this gandhian tectique of non-co-operation has actually lost its glimmer of hope in west bengal at least!

  2. strike is a drama conducted by those mad politicians!!

  3. Do you mean "strike"? If you mean strike - a strike is an action conducted by workers/laborers to halt work. They are halting work so that they can get a concession or a deal from their employers for higher pay, less dangerous conditions, or some other prize. I personally feel they are good, but the businesses that they are striking against feel that they are bad. Strikes used to be illegal in the United States, and the government has, in the past, murdered strikers. Strikes were fairly common, and tolerated by the government, from the 1930s to the 1970s, but Ronald Reagan shut a lot of them down by breaking the power of the labor unions that usually conducted them. I personally wish we has more strikes and more labor unions. But, a strike in the transportation industry can have a bad effect on society - people may not have bus rides, plane rides, etc until the strike is over.

    My summary:

    Strikes are generally good.

They result in higher pay and better working conditions for people everywhere.

    Employers don't like them.

The only bad result is a temporary disruption in the striking business.
