  1. Phenol  is an activated aromatic ring and undergoes eltrophilic substitution readily. B2 will react with phenol to produce the trisubstituted tribromophenol in which both ortho positions and the para position are substituted , since typical of all activator groups...the OH directs to the o, and p positions. It is called 2, 4, 6 tribromophenol.
