  1. lemonad ice cream and wip cream

  2. Just as a point of reference, the only real difference is that "sun tea" is made at a lower temperature, so it won't be quite as bitter.  when making tea your magical temperature is 200F for getting tea that's not bitter.  If you go over 200F the tea becomes bitter.

  3. Sun Tea is when you leave a gallon jug of water with about 4 family sized tea bags in the sun for hours, this makes tea. It's gotta be hot outside though...

  4. They sell sun tea gallon jars at some stores Like Smart & Final or you can use a large clear glass pitcher covered with saran wrap.I learned 1 thing if you are at a high altitude it doesn't work

I put 6 tea bags in a gallon jar of water and have it directly in the sun all day I start out about 10 o'clock  and when it reaches the color I want I bring it in and refridgerate  it of course you don't have to use a whole gallon, it can be less and I use machine water(purified) When I lived at 65 hundred feet , the water wouldn't  get hot enough It has something to do with the barometric pressure   so I don't know what the highest range would be in altitude.

  5. Sun tea is just that. You take a large glass jar, fill it with water and put how ever many tea bags you like.(The more you use the stronger the tea) Then set it in the sun for a few hours.

Hint: I use a gallon jar with 3 family size tea bags. I like mine stronger than most people.

  6. you make sun tea by filling a glass covered container with water and tea bags- it is usually a big container so you want to put a good number of tea bags in it and then you put it out on your deck or porch in the sun -let it brew for at least a few hours... Delicious!!

  7. As the mercury breaks 100°F on these hot summer days (or 38°C for those of you on a metric system) a great way to make some tea without heating up your kitchen is to use the power of the sun to make sun tea.

    Sun Tea Recipe

Put 4 to 6 tea bags into a clean 2 quart glass container. Fill with water and cap. Place outside where the sunlight can strike the container for about 3 to 5 hours. Move the container if necessary to keep it in the sun. When the tea has reached its desired strength, remove from sun and put it in the refrigerator. You may or may not want to remove the tea bags at this point. I usually don't.

The tea will probably taste more mellow than what you are used to from using boiling water. The slow seeping has a way of bringing out a slightly different flavor from the tea. Also, because you didn't use boiling water, you should refrigerate the tea and drink it up pretty quickly - a day or two. It will not keep as well as iced tea made from boiling water.

I usually make sun tea with various forms of herbal tea. Sometimes you can put in a few sprigs of fresh mint as well.

  8. Tea brewed with the power of sunshine!  The way we always did it while I was growing up (in Arkansas, so I know my iced tea!) was to get one of those enormous gallon-sized glass jars, fill it almost to the top with cold water, then stick in about ten regular tea bags.  Close it, put it outside, let it sit pretty much all day, then take out the bags and put it in the fridge.  It's a different flavor than from tea from boiling water (and I like it better, actually).

You have to be careful, though.  The jar you brew it in has to be VERY clean, preferably sterilized through boiling it or running it through the "sanitize" setting on a dishwasher.  Since it sits out all day, it can grow bacteria and mold and things... I know people who've gotten *really* sick from sun tea because they didn't clean their jar well enough.

  9. To my understanding, sun tea is like tea made with an Ice Tea Maker except you use the sun to heat the water instead of plugging a machine in the wall.  This is how I make sun tea.  Fill a large clear jar with water.  (I have one with a spigot on the bottom to let the tea out when I am ready.)  Add 3-5 tea bags.  Put it in the sun.  When it is as strong as you would like it, bring it in.  Add ice and enjoy.  Some folks like sweetener but I prefer mine straight up.
