  1. Supply-side economics is a school of macroeconomic thought that argues that economic growth can be most effectively created using incentives for people to produce (supply) goods and services, such as adjusting income tax and capital gains tax rates. Supply-side economics is often conflated with trickle-down economics, now a derogatory term given to right-leaning economists' views.[1] The term supply-side economics was coined by journalist Jude Wanniski in 1975, and popularized the ideas of economists Robert Mundell and Arthur Laffer.

"Trickle-down economics" and "trickle-down theory," is a term used in political rhetoric[citation needed] to classify economic policies perceived to benefit the wealthy and then "trickle-down" to the middle and lower classes. The theory states that if the top income earners invest more into the business infrastructure and equity markets, it will in turn lead to more goods at lower prices, and create more jobs for middle and lower class individuals.

  2. Supply side economics basically it's a theory to increase incentive for people to produce more goods and services by cutting down on capital gain tax, and marginal tax rates.

Trickle down theory is that if you help people who had the most wealthy they can invest more which will help create jobs and goods at lower prices which in turn will help the lower and middle class.

  3. As the others have said about trickling down, give a very rich man a lot more money and it will benefit all as they will spend more. This is complete BS. People with money will hang onto it, not give it away in an altruistic frenzy.

Can anyone explain to me why it is that the best way to help the poor is to give money to the rich? This sounds just like crumbs from the rich man's table, 19th century paternalism and entrenched privilege.
