Question:

What is swimming in my turtle tank?

besides my two turtles, i mean. they look like very small white pieces of string, and they wiggle. i went to a pet store once and saw them in a turtle tank there too, but didnt bother asking. but what are these things anyway?

  1. I dunno what they are but you may wanna get those out of yer tank.

    Might be a parasite.


  2. I've seen them in my turtle tank. My guess is some sort of parasite.

    I cleaned their tank and put a turtle shaped medicated sulfa block in there and I haven't seen them since.

    I'm not quite sure of the name of the sulfa block but you can find it at Petsmart, Wallmart, and other pet related stores I'm sure.

    they used to get in my fish tank.   Just clean out your tank and try to keep your door closed :)

  5. It sounds like Planaria, they are often found in aquatic tanks and feed on  uneaten food. They are small, white and string-like. You can often see them clinging to the side of the glass. A thorough cleaning, especially cleaning the gravel will reduce their numbers.
