What is that band for on my budgies leg?

Question

I just bought a pet parakeet from PetSmart and he has a band on his leg. I know this is not unusual for a bird to have this. What is on this band? He is not yet used to me so I cannot get close enough to see what it says. I have bought two other birds from there and neither of them had bands. Can anybody tell me what the band is for?

It identifies the breeder and the place the bird is from! It's pretty cool! kjl
