What is that camera effect that picks one colour?

I know a few people who have cameras that take a black and white pictures and they can pick out one colour that shows up, what is this effect called? And does anyone know how to do this effect in photoshop? please and thank you :)

  1. In the camera, it is called Color Accent (some Canons have this feature).  Here is a website that I created.  It gives you step-by-step instructions on how to do selective coloring in photoshop:

    You bet! It is called selective coloring!

    GIMP and Elements can do it.

  3. All the Canon Powershots have this feature... it's called "color accent."

    In Photoshop, start with a color image, make a duplicate layer, convert to black and white, then use the eraser to reveal the color below.
