What is the coating that opticians put on your glasses so that they won't reflect light, and so that your eyes are always more visible?

Can you get it done on glasses that are already made? Or do you have to order it when you have glasses made for you?

Thank you!

  1. That is a called an Anti Reflection coating.

It is best to have it done on new lenses. Doing it on old lenses run a high risk of ruining the lenses, and it is done at the customers own risk.

Even the smallest hairline scratches in an old lens will make an AR coating defective, so using old lenses isn't advisable.

My lab will still do it, but many labs won't do it at all on old lenses.
