What is that device??

I have seen many Pool videos in which the players has some kind of device attach to their back of their waist. What is that?? ...looks really strange to me

If you're talking about pool taped specifically for TV, it could be their microphone transmitter.  I'm not sure how many pro players use pocket chalkers or similar things.

With out a better description, My only guess is that it could be a cue chalk holder.  They make ones that hook on to your belt or belt-loop.
