  1. Is that where they sailed through the sirens calls?  roped to the boat so would not answer the "Call" and go over board.

  2. here is the specific webpage on the Fates from the site theoi.com in the answer above

and there are all kinds of free information on the web just be careful and remember that anyone can put a website out there about anything literally. but this website seems legite

    http://theoi.com/Daimon/Moirai.html

    hope this helps :)

  3. theres more than one but heres a greek mythology website

    theoi.com

  4. Hercules was human and the fates tried to stop him and failed. im sure its not the same story your talking about tho

  5. for an interesting twist - there's a modern day book about a descendent of one of the Fates trying to cheat the Fates.  It's called WebMage by Kelly McCullough.  I think its part of a series.  You may enjoy that.  I've never actually heard of the Fates failing in greek myth though there might have been a time.  Usually it was a matter of someone trying to cheat their destiny and having it happen despite or even because of what they've done.  I think the over riding belief was that everyone falls to Fate eventually.

  6. you are thinking of a disney version of the story of hercules

  7. oh yeah about that guy whose name started with an O.  His fortune was that hed kill his father and steal his throne and marry his mother as his queen and so his parents sent him away to a mountain and told them to keep him there but somehow he escaped and his fate was fulfilled...dont remember how though, i remember it very vaguely.
