Question:

What is that piece on the end of a belt?

I am making my own belts but I need to know where I can find the little metal piece that goes on the opposite end of the belt as the buckle. I think it's supposed to keep it from fraying and make it easier to slide the belt through the buckle. I'm using the type of buckle that is rectangular and it has a bar in the middle that you slide to either loosen or tighten the belt. Can anyone help me find this piece or tell me the name of it?

  1. are you talking about the metal circles on the notches?  (joane fabrics)

or a metal peice on the very end of the belt (might have to weld it yourself.)

  2. Try asking at the fabric stores.  Maybe they have those pieces there.      I don't know if you could get old belts from thrift stores & move them to new belts.  It doen't seem like it would work.

I think you're right about its purpose, the same as the plastic or metal tips on shoelaces.  If you can't find them or make them, I've heard there's something called Fray Check that is sold in craft stores and fabric stores.  I think it comes in a tube or bottle, but I don't remember.  They were yakking about it on TV.  You could try that.

  3. That little tab that goes through a slide buckle?  No clue.  You may have to weld or solder one together yourself.

  4. belt buckle

  5. I racked my brain on this. But you might want to try calling your closest; Hobby Lobby or craft store...? Where did you buy the belt kit? Call them and ask. Anyway, just an idea..by the way; what is the name of that little piece that gets attached to the end of the belt, is it a "Clasp?"
