Always I remember hearing katydid(cicada) around dusk where I live. Sometimes it's almost deafening and very rhythmic. For the last week I have been hearing a sound all day long. It is penetrating like the cicada, but I hear it all day long. It is not rhythmic like the cicada I am used to hearing. It sounds like a fast police siren in the distance except that it sounds nearby and all around. Is it a new cicada that I have never heard before? Is it a plague or the end of the world? Do you hear cicada at your house? Do they sound different this year? I used to only hear them around dusk, this season for about the past week it has been all day every day. Seems highly unusual to me.

  1. The green police coming to get anyone who they see as not green enough.

  2. I hope you are ready for this because I believe it to be true.

What you are hearing is what has been called the "Taos Hum" or the "Santa Fe Hum"... I used to hear it all the time, usually at night, when I lived in Santa Fe.

Then, I started hearing it in other parts of the country... Texas, Missouri, Illinois... and other states.

The Santa Fe and Taos hums have always been associated with EXTRATERRESTRIAL ACTIVITY... my personal belief is, it sounds more like a vacuum cleaner and it's filtering something out of the atmosphere and then taking it "somewhere".

In addition, you will NEVER be able to pinpoint just WHERE the sound is coming from... it just sounds like it's coming from all the points of the compass.

Look up the Taos Hum and the Santa Fe hum and see if you find a description that sounds like what you are hearing.
