Question:

What is that squiggly line i see in my eye?

but only when i don't focus on it, but some times i will just be sitting there and i will see a squiggly line, then it will move away. WTF is that?

  1. Myodesopsia, but the term floater is better known. Nothing to worry about, everybody gets them, although people who are near-sighted get them slightly more often.


  2. If it is what I think it is, they call those black floaters. There are specs inside the lens of your eye that float around. This is normal. It will probably never go away, so just try to ignore it. If it really bugs you, ask an optomologist about it.

  3. I have exactly what you have. Don't worry it doesn't harm you in any way. Its common to have. Stewie from family guy even wrote a poem about it. It went like this:

    Oh, squiggly line in my eye fluid, I see you there, lurking on the periphery of my vision. But when I try to look at you, you scurry away. Are you shy, squiggly line? Why only when I ignore you do you return to the center of my eye? Oh, squiggly line, it's all right. You are forgiven.

  4. A migraine coming on...it usually passes...if not, OUCH...migraines hurt!

  5. I think they're called floaters. Ask your doctor but my opthamologist told me they weren't anything to worry about.
