Ew I always see those Giants commercials where the announcer goes "MEAT!" It's annoying.Where did that come from?

  2. In the Twins' New Ballpark Commerical with Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, and Michael Cuddyer...Justin says "Lay some in there meat!" to whoever was pitching the ball to him (I don't remember if it was Joe or Cuddy). I've always wondered about that too.

  3. Kevin Costner called Tim Robbins meat in the movie Bull Durham, but I highly doubt that's what your talking about.  Whenever I hear someone called meat I think of that movie.

  4. "Meat!" comes from team announcer Mike Krukow who is fond of saying "Grab some pine, meat!" when an opposing player strikes out.  It's just an old term that veterans from many years ago used to refer to an average player.
