  2. These are commonly known as Gandy Dancers or handcars.

  3. Hand car usually although there werea lot of local names, some a bit too "colorful" to print. they were a lot of work. Gandy Dancer is a name for RR track workers, and the hand cars with engines were called "motor cars" or speeders.
