  1. It's definitely in the head unit. I had the same problem with my old pioneer. Every time I would turn the volume down from a certain point it would do it as well.

  2. actually the pioner hu are known to have bad sub outs and a bad cd section.how ever what he is describing sounds like a ground issue. weather its the hu or the amp ground. if you have changed a hu before and it was doing this did you stop to think you could have moved the faulty wire during the install? check the grounds first. then if its still there. swap to the next set or rca jacks if it is still evedent swap the unit.

  3. It may be the way you have the cd player wired or the rca cables may not be very good. If you have the time switch the headunit out or the rca cables and see if you still have this problem.

  4. MR32B, strikes again, and yet again you have no clue. Listen to Jmann, change that head unit it is going bad on you.

  5. I could possibly be a bad ground wire.  Try regrounding your deck directly to the firewall.  Make sure you scrap the paint and get a good solid ground.  If that doesn't fix it, time for a new HU.
