  1. The 16eme arrondissement is considered one of the more upscale arrodissements in Paris -- so everything has a fittingly upscale feel (this extends to hotel rates, by the way).

It is, with some exceptions, primarily a residential arrondissement, so the cafes and restaurants are plentiful, and you'll likely find it fairly quiet.

  2. I have stayed in the 16th (Auteuil) and it's very quiet and that's why I liked it.  It's removed from the 5:00 am garbage and bottle collection in the centre of Paris.

You should go to the Modern Art Museum on Avenue President Wilson - admission is free and it's extremely interesting.

  3. I agree with Sun, it's an expensive district and residential.

It's one of the largest districts and some parts are very cool to live.

If you want to be in calm place among rich people and beautiful flats,  it's good. This district is in the west side of Paris and there are some advantages for example to be near Bois de Boulogne where you can go easily to make jogging or cycling...

If you want to find animation, it's not the best place in Paris.

There are not so many restaurants and cafe as in Latin quarter. (5th and 6th), and around Champs Elysées (8th).

If you are looking for a good place to live in Paris, you can write to me.

I like especially the west part of 17th arrondissement, around metro Ternes.....but also expensive !

  4. The 16eme arrondissement is really safe, and quiet.  I leaved in the 16eme for maybe 2 years " boulevard Exelmans"  It's nice.  But because it's calm....There is not much activity around.  But that's ok, you just take the subway, and you can find whatever you like.  It's Paris!
