I am being induced on September 2nd at 5am, so I will more then likely not eat I dont want any of it to "come loose" when I am in actual labor. I dont know how long my labor will take, I'm 39 weeks and when I was checked a couple days ago I was still 1 cm dialated and he said my cervix is still really 'thick'. I'm sure I will be starving when I finally have my baby, my husband said he will bring me whatever I want to eat afterwards and the hospital allows you to bring in food from the outside. Is there anything you were dying to have after your baby was born?? I'm just curious :)

  1. A bottle of wine!!

  2. Well, place an order at a few different restaurants, so the food gets ready in time, but then when you decide what you want, send your husband out to the specific restaurant and pick it up.

    I do that occasionally.

I think my number is blocked from the Domino's nearby.

  3. with my first baby, pizza! during this pregnancy...im craving donuts! lol

  4. I didn't even care!! I was so hungry it was crazy! I remember craving bacon while in labor but as soon as I was done, with labor they served me the most beautiful Roast Turkey and mashed potatoes and veggies and cheesecake I ever had. My sister laughed at me because she said I inhaled everything so fast. I even got seconds.

  5. I am currently 12 weeks pregnant with my second. Congrats ahead of time on your new bundle of joy!

I was also induced when I had my daugther. She was 10 days overdue. During my 22 hrs of labor someone was talking about how good the cheese (mozzarella) sticks were in the hospital cafeteria. These are my one of my favorite things ever so after my daughter was born I demanded someone go get me some. To my dismay they had ran out but my father in law is amazing and drove to a local arby's to help out the cause :) And for the record....I was starving! Definitely take the ice chips. Oh! And I know that they let me have some ginger ale. That helped a bit too.

  6. I wanted mc donalds and my mam and dad got it for me .But I got sick from it so I didnt have much .

  7. I will want turkey dinner! With all the trimmings! Gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, corn. OMG YUM! My mom brought that to me in the hospital when I had my daughter and now that is my favorite "get your strength back" food....

Or Sushi..and tempura..oh man..I'm hungry! Glad my stew will be done soon! ;)

  8. dont starve yourself in fear of having a BM on the table...it happens to most people. But to answer your question. The one thing i would kill for (and already told my wonderful girlfriends to have ready is) french fries with a side of Gorgonzola cheese sauce, on and a nice cold coke!

  9. first thing i sent my hubby for while i was having a shower getting cleaned up,was a large chocolate thick shake, and a packet of chocolate truffles, other than that i didnt really have the desire to eat a large amount of food until at least the next day.  Good luck and congratulations

  10. my baby was born at 10:38pm. so by the time they got me all cleaned up, stitched, the baby cleaned, all my family and bfs family got to see us in our room, moved me to my new room, got settled in, it was well past midnite.  so the hospital was not about to feed me.

i sent my bf out to Wendy's for a double cheeseburger, fries, diet coke and gravy because i wasnt allowed to eat that food while pregnant.  lol.  the nurses didn't say anything even though i had gestational diabetes. i guess they thought i deserved it.   then on the way home a week later, i had a French Vanilla Cappucino - not allowed during pregnancy and that was totally worth it.  Good luck, mommy.

  11. nothing, they brought me food and i couldn't eat one bite, for the next few days.. even steak, i couldn't eat it.

  12. I told my family I want Hamachi sushi (yellowtail) yum!

    A strong coffee

    And champagne or wine

I don't know if I'll be able to have any of that since I will be breast feeding but those are 3 things I definitely want when I'm allowed to have them!

  13. after both of my daughters were born i made my partner bring me a massive KFC!!!

To be honest, no matter how long you don't eat during labour, you may have something "come loose"!!! its natural...sorry!!!

My advice is to eat normally until they "advise" you not to. you're gonna need all the energy you can get! stick to slow digesting foods like pasta, bread etc, that way if you go into labour quickly theres not as much danger!

  14. I wasn't hungry.  i was too tired to eat and as soon as I got cleaned up, I laid down and crashed out.  I woke up starving.  While I was in labor (more like waiting for labor to start) everyone was eating Burger King whoppers in front of me and they looked soooo good.  So thats what I wanted, but I woke up early in the morning and got nasty hosptial breakfast, but it was so good at the time because that was how hungry I was.

  15. After each of my deliveries, I just wanted a cold drink that was not water or ice chips.

I ended up throwing up all over the place. I couldn't even think of food for a couple of days.

  16. I highly recomend eating BEFORE being induced, you need fuel to keep your body going. If you have a bowel movement the nurse takes care of it before you or your husband even notice.

After having a baby I was hungry for anything, mostly a light food like subway.

good luck on the induction, if your body isn't ready to go into labor it may not work out... I hope it goes well with you
