وقتل النفس التي حرم الله قتلها إلا بالحق، وأكل الربا، وأكل مال اليتيم،

((Avoid the 7 grave sins. They said: And what are they O Messenger of Allaah. He said: Associating partners with Allaah, Magic, and killing a person that Allaah has prohibited their killing without due right, involving in Interest, taking from the money of the Orphan, and running from the Battlefield, and dishonoring (lying upon) the chaste woman)) Hadeeth reported by Aboo Hurayrah. The 7 deadly sins for Muslims are the same as ours. The worst sin in Islam is apostasy.

i answered this question once b4...

as i remember , they 're called the "7 moobikaat"(i could be wrong .am a non arab)

the 7 worst sins r as follows(am not sure if they take any specific order):

1)to associate partners with "the one and only God"

2)to practise sorcery ,witchcraft, astrology(all included under "sihr')

3)accusing a chaste believing woman of commiting an unchaste act that she would never even think of

4)taking life of another unlawfully

5)indulging in usury(riba)

6)consuming the wealth of an orphan

7)running away fromt he battle field .obviously this is for the soldiers/protectors of the country's population(i think it probably means that one shouldnt run from anything important that is assigned to him/her with trust )

BUT there are other major sins too...all must be avoided(consuming alcohol,adultery etc)

I'm taking a weekend Quran class and this is what we learned:

There is a hadith closest to it's meaning, that Nabi (SAW) advised Muslims to avoid 7 sins: shirk, magic, killing, taking from a needy person, running from the battlefield, and committing adultery.
