What is the American opinion of English men?

I always wonder what people on the other side of the pond think of us, in Europe we are considered to drink to much and cause trouble, in places of the world we are percieved as alot of rich people that speak with posh accents and "drink tea at noon" ( I hate tea)

omg i know, it's so annoying in like the american cartoons, it's always the posh butler who is english.

Well guess what, england is full of chavs and violoence and knives, but then again america is full of gangsters, threats and guns.

Well our perception of america is a load of fat people eating hamburgers and driving cars that can't turn corners.

I am an American and it's colored by UK men that are famous. Like Elton John, Prince Charles, Anthony Hopkins, Hugh Grant, the Beatles. I think English men are probably a little more stuck up than American men, and have a better sense of humor. Otherwise they are just guys with an accent. Men are men are men.

The accent is charming, even when it's more middle class, but when I've actually gotten to know English men, they are spoiled by their families and never lose the little boy attitude.

There are two contradicting perceptions. The first one is that they are all kind of g*y and afraind to get dirty.

However, then you have characters like Billy Idol and the classic English bikers and then of course the English navy of old Drake and Nelson etc... and you go, looks can be decieving, they might kick your azz.

i like the accent. I wouldnt say you guys are more trouble makers than americans. I also wouldnt say you are a bunch of tea drinkers. I feel like some may be a bit conceded.

American women apparently prefer british men because there's the stereotype that they're very charming, act like gentleman, and ofcourse the accent..

English men look just like White American, Canadian % Australian men you act the same but kjust have different accents Americans aint all fat and English aint all posh

I'd say both stereotypes exist over here (which is ironic, considering how different they are), but the "posh" one wins out.

Before I moved to England (I'm back in the States now) I was actually convinced I needed to watch my language since cursing would probably be frowned upon over there.  HA!

My own personal stereotype, now that I've dated more than I care to count, would be that they all have cute accents, s**y shaggy hair, love beer, and aren't as caught up in the whole "macho" thing as American men are.

I never thought this way.

I meet some english men that were here in training while I worked at a army PX. And I thought they hott, and polite. I told all my friends about them. I just wish I could meet more. I am sick of men here.

It's embarrassing to watch british males bend forward in subjugation to a female queen.  Bending forward for a woman? ouch! Who is the REAL man? Her or the men who bow?

Sorry if that sounds old fashioned on my part but its no  more old fashioned than having a queen.

Other than that I think the british are cool. I almost killed myself trying to get use to driving on the opposite side of the road there though.
