don't go over 3000 there are many dress out there that are the same a an expensive dress DON'T go for the FIRST one you see look at other stores before you decide Davids bridal had a lot of nice dresses but i wouldn't recommenced it they have the same dresses every year if you want something elegant and romantic try a little boutique they have the best dresses

People with 'average" weddings, do not have 400 guests.

Our wedding is costing us (so far) 30 thousand for 40 people. New England. That includes dress, rings and honeymoon.

Really though, it all depends on what kind of a wedding you want. I've seen $800 weddings and I've seen $80,000 weddings. I would say not to expect any less than $10,000 though for 350-400 guests.
