That is Made in Japan ??? Subaru? Honda ? Toyota ? Mitsubishi ? ..... Type R.....or something. have no idea which one to buy?

2008 MazdaSpeed 3 is the best for the money (starts at $23K).

The Civic Si and VW GTI are comparably priced, but nowhere close to the MS3 in terms of overall performance.

A Subaru WRX is comparable to the MS3.  With added AWD and depending on options, it will run you an additional $2-4K over the MS3.

If you want to fork over another $30K or more new, you can't lose with any of the following:

Mitsubishi Evolution X

Subaru WRX STI

Volkswagen R32 (I know this car isn't made in Japan, but it is in the same class)
