  1. The best card in the world would be the NVIDIA Geforce GTX 280 1 GB Gddr3. Some people might say the radeon 4870, but the gtx 280 is the better choice. And if you hook them up in tri sli........ur computer is gonna blow every game for the next 10 years away. they cost about 500-700 dollars each. ATI copied nvidia's sli by making crossfire.

  2. The BEST for gaming would be an ATI Radeon HIS 4870 x2.

550 bucks at the cheapest and it is 2 videocards in 1.

get a Crossfire ready motherboard and a 1200 watt power supply and you cna buy 2 to go quad fire.  4 videocards on 2 boards in 1 computer.  POWWERRRRRRRRR!!!!! as  a british bloak would say.

iF you prefer Geforce, go with a 790i motherboard, a 1200 watt power supply and smack together, either 3 GTX 280s or 2 9800 GX2s.

both are still weaker than 2 4870 x2s.

i'm sorry to go against the first guy, but benchmark tests have shown that 4870 x2 card on early drivers blew the doors off of every last videocard on the face on this universe.

BTW. ATI is weird with drivers.  As the card gets older (by months only, not years), the card's drivers will become more "mature" and the card pretty much speeds up alot more.  Pretty much, ATI finds the best configuration in about 1 month after launch, and tweaks it until they get the last bit of juice out of the card.  And let me tell you something.  This card has a tanker full of juice.
