What is the BEST restaurant in Denver? I'm looking for something very fancy, possibly with dancing as well?

My fiance will be deployed when the Marine Corps ball takes place, so after he returns I want to take him out for a great night on the town. What is a very fancy restaurant in the Denver area? I've heard Elways is good, but I really want a restaurant where we won't look out of place being all dressed up. Thank you!

  1. Elways is nice, but I think there are some other great places too. I'm assuming you're not too worried about cost.  Are you definitely wanting to stick in Denver?  If not, the Flagstaff House in Boulder is one of the best spots around.  Excellent food, service, and its in the Flatirons so the view (especially with late sunsets these days) is amazing.  The Fort is also excellent for all the above and has a view as well, that's in Morrison.  And the Brown Palace hotel has a lovely restaurant and of course the hotel is fantastic too.  Enjoy and we are grateful for his service.

  2. For steak, I´ve always loved the Captal Grille. They also have loads of other great food too, they have dress code so you will definitely not be out of place.

Also, try looking around the denver citysearch website, restaurant section. You can narrow your search by feature, like fine dining, special occasion.

  3. My personal favorite is the Briarwood,  located in Golden.

There is also the Downtown Broker

We wish you guys the best - and thank him for serving!

  4. There are 2 Elway's now and with the kind of dinner/night-out you have in mind,  I suggest you go to the Elway's at the Ritz-Carlton downtown.

Both Elways (the other one is in Cherry Creek) are great and it's common to see diners there dressed in their finery but definitely go to their Ritz carlton branch.

    Enjoy yourselves!

  5. If he likes steak and you want to be in Downtown Denver, go to Morton's. After dinner, go to Trios Enoteca where you can grab a great glass of wine or a martini AND splurge on getting him a cigar (they have a cigar bar).

Or, try Restaurant Kevin Taylor. Make a reservation in the Wine Cellar (very romantic and their expert staff visits that area more often to make recommendations). For a similarly swanky place, try the Palace Arms at the Brown Hotel. I think both have excellent food and wine lists. Those are the most likely spots to offer dancing.

I think Manor House is also a lot of fun, its just far from the action in Denver.

Briarwood and Elways are both subpar food (you could do better making it at home) that is terrifically over priced.

Good luck! And thank your sweetie AND you for being strong.
