    Next on the list is Rensselaer School of Engineering in Troy, New York.  It was ranked 18th in mechanical engineering (out of the top 50 in the nation)  Here is a site to read up on Rensselaer:   http://soenews.rpi.edu/update.do

    Depending how far afield you want to go there is a good one in Wisconsin (University of Wisconsin-Madison).
