What is the Best DVD disc to use to burn movies from the net?

I downloaded a movie from the net and i burned it on a DVD-R disc but it won't play on my regular DVD player only on my computer, which disc is the correct one to buy in order to be able to view it on any DVD player?

It doesnt matter on the disc as long as your computer supports that kind of disc. It depends on the program that you used. I would use either convertxtodvd or Nero
