What is the Best Scooter to buy around Baltimore?

I need a scooter that's cheap, yet durable. I need to ride to & from work. I may ride 20 -40 miles each way. Sometimes i will ride to DC etc. on my scooter. I have ridden my scooter from Buffalo NY to Wash. DC. It was a tank and a piece of junk, but i think it went about 50mph. I need one to go about that fast.

What do people say about these Baja's, Vespa, Velocity scooters? Is there a good used place to get one in Baltimore MD area & or a good place that repairs them?

I need right away and hope to spend under $1000. if possible.

Not for a thousand. You should look at KYMCO and HYOSUNG they are reliable well made scooters and they go from a 50cc to 500cc. I know what you mean about tank's I worked on one for a favor never again.

Honda or Yamaha. They have an organized dealer network and trained mechanics.

Note Vespas are 15000rm in MY and an equivalent Yamaha Neuovo is 5000rm.

What? Buffalo? Forget it buddy, buy a compact car.
