  1. if money is no object mac users use final cut pro it is what the pros use or if they use pcs the  pros go with premiere. vegas is used by some pros but usually lower level but this is still a great program too. never heard of power director but the first three all do a great job (latest versions) i would also check out xsprolimits.com they make great addon software for all three btw aftereffects is designed to be used with premiere. if you have a mac go with final cut as it is part of the mac family if you have a pc final cut will be a pain to use. so all this being said i would say the first three are great for all the things you listed. vegas is probably the most user friendly, fcp is the most used (by mac people) and premere is also great. go with vegas if your a newbie (as in a moviemaker user) and do research to find out which program you will like the most by visiting the site of that software vendor. good luck

  2. pinnacle is easy to use but tends to crash a lot...if you have a mac then the best software is Final Cut

Pro...excellent effects and very easy to use as you get the hang of it!

  3. if you're a beginner, then Adobe premiere Pro.  They took the workflow format from Final Cut Pro.

If you're a seasoned editor, then either Final Cut Pro or you can go with the industry standard editor, Avid, both on PC and Mac.
