I have a trailer but am interested in the least complicated way. I have 250 + 50 spare gallons capactiy and burn 20 GPH at cruise of 50MPH (Surface drives with 2 x Yanmar 6ly2 440hp) so range (w/reserve) is about 500-600 miles. I am running under a kuwait flag

  1. You can use services of yacht transport company.

Check Sol Yacht Transport web site for prices(http://www.solyachttransport.com/)

  2. if it was me, I'd make a deal to ship it as deck cargo on a ship going in that general direction... it won't cost you that much more than what the gas and wear and tear will cost you and it's a lot easier.

  3. Given the yachts that are transported to the gulf region, you might be able to use one of the shipping companies like:

    Dockwise.com, Yachtpath.com, Sevenstar.com, yacht-transport.com .  Most serve the gulf region.

  4. I would definitely use a yacht transport company.......if Dockwise serves the Gulf, I can highly recommend them from their work in the Caribbean.

Otherwise pay the money to go as deck cargo on a merchant ship..it will be less than paying for gas, and I wouldn't want to think what the additional insurance would be for running Hormuz and the Republican Guard....if those boys will take on a US Navy Surface Action Group, a Kuwaiti flagged yacht , even at 50k, would be a prime target.......

and lets not talk about Somali pirates hanging out off of Aden......

and are there any gas stops between Hormuz and Aden, let alone Aden and Jeddah?
