like 50+ water balloons. They seem to burst in hands, pockets, and buckets when piled on top of one and other.

  4. Buckets are generally the best method for carrying water balloons. There are two main reason balloons pop in this environment. The first is obviosly force that is applied by the balloons sitting on top of those towards the bottom. There is not an appriciable affect from balloons on the sides of eachother because most of the weight is carried downwards. To mitigate this cause for popping I have had more luck by using much shallower and larger buckets - picture a small outdoor kiddy pool. The second reason that causes popping is the chain reaction - started by the first reason. As one balloon pops it causes a spike in stress on the other balloons as they collapse in the cavity left by the first pop. A solution that I have found to this is to place cardboard sheets in at various locations as dividers to reduce the chain reaction damage. You can play around with length/height and frequency of the dividers.

Also, one common mistake with buckets is to forget to grind/cut off the pointy nub at the center of the bottom of the bucket left by manufacturing.

    Hope this helps!!! Happy Ballooning

  5. Use a bucket, but fill it with water first, that will even out the pressure between them.  A cooler works well, too.  Fewer layers of balloons.
