Does anyone know how to explain what this is, or an example? I've read everywhere but I'm just not really comprehending it, thanks!

  1. The Bright Line Rule, or Test, is a term used for a rule that is written in a way that is crystal clear in what it means.  The Miranda Rights fall under this classification because it is very clear what action the police officer must take to properly execute the rule.  All he needs to do is recite a certain list of information.  He does not need to interpret the law at all, just follow it.

  2. The bright line rule for Miranda rights is "custodial interrogation".

It applies only when you are in custody, and when you are being interrogated about the crime you are in custody for.
