What is the Canadian grade equivelant to a British A level?

I'm thinking about going to Cambridge or Oxford but i'm from Canada. Oxford says that you need 3 A level courses. I was just wondering if that's the same as our A grades (86% & up) or if they do it differently.

for Oxford and cambridge you normally need at least 3 A levels at grade A (a grade A is 80%).  However Oxbridge are encouraging the introduction of the new A* grade which is 90%.

Do you know whether you want to apply to Oxford or Cambridge? (you can only apply to one or the other).  I would e mail them to find out the equivalent grade that they want.  Google Oxford or Cambridge uni to get their details.
