  1. Well... since you posted in the homeschooling section, I might assume that you mean a teaching cooperative.

A teaching cooperative is a very local operation.  You would need to contact some local homeschool support groups and inquire of them as to how the local coop(s) work.

You can find one in your area by doing a search such as "myTown myCounty homeschool support group."

The phrasing of your question, however, has me thinking that you actually mean college level Cooperative Education Program.

Again, this is something you will need to speak to your college about...

I participated in a cooperative education program during college and it was great!  Don't tell anyone but I worked for the IRS.  The program I was in required a sophomore standing and every other semester was spent working at a job relating to your major.  Mine was computer science and I worked in a data center at an IRS facility.

Cooperative education (college) solves the dilemma of getting work experience.

You also get college credit for the work experience - I think my program awarded 4 or 6 credits - had to complete a report about the work experience every semester.

No problem for me because I like to write.  :-)

  2. In high school I was in a co-op program where  I went to school a few hours per day and worked a few hours a day to receive high school credit.  Is this what you are referring to?  If so, you need to speak to your guidance counselor about it.

If you are referring to a homeschooling co-op, then here is some additional info for you:
