I just can't contort my hand/fingers the way that's required (for the one I know). If it makes any difference, the particular to/from chord changes I'm doing are Dm to Gm to Am.

I know there must be a million ways to construct it (a G, a B flat, and a D), but are there ways that are "more correct" than others for whatever reason? I just need the one that's physically the easiest to do. :)

  1. The barre chord is pretty easy:

    Or this one:

  2. Barre at the 3rd fret and play an Em chord shape. Then, for the A minor, you can just slide the whole hand up 2 frets without changing finger positions.

For the D minor, I would barre at the 5th fret and play an Am chord shape. Strum or pick only the top (EBGDA) 5 strings. The low E string can be picked alternately as part of a bass line.

  3. One finger (the ring) across the first 3 strings, E,B,G at the third fret. That gives you a Bflat, D & G.

Also, it's movable. The chord is a minor named by the note on the E.
