I worked for a roofing company as an office manager. When I first started there two other girls warned me about the owner. I didn't take them seriously and thought I could handles myself. I was so wrong. He was very aggressive and intimidating. IT was hard to stand up for myself but I did it. After a few awful comments he made to me and the other complaining I decided to confront him. It was hard to be discreet given that only 3 women worked for the company So he knew exactly where the complaints were coming from. Anyways, he fired the two girls...Later I learned I was prego He denied me medical benefits and said I would not get a maternity leave. I filed a charge with the EEOC They sent him a copy of the charge. I had a miscarriage, returned to work and was fired for filing a charge. The EEOC says that I have a valid complaint, it's been 8 months since I was fired and still no word on where my case is going. I even have him on tape recorder which has been turned in Y taking so long?

  1. My sister too had trouble with the EEOC.  You do have a claim, try getting a private attorney.

  2. The EEOC has not had any teeth since the 80s. You should file a civil suit.
