  1. It just means that you have to fill it out to get financial aid. EVERYONE has to fill them out. They get you money. It's annoying to fill out, but it's good to do.

  2. it doesn't mean you are poor it helps deterine if you are eligible for any government funds such as loans, pell grant, work study

to apply go to website below & it also give you information

don't be ashame of financial aid with this econony not many can afford college

  3. it is to apply for federal studen aid, these are for grants, not loans. It just saves you out of pocket money to go to school. So it's a good thing. fill it out.

free application for federal student aid.

  4. All students are expected to contribute towards the cost of their college education. How much you and your family will be expected to contribute depends on your financial situation—and is what is referred to as your Expected Family

    Contribution or EFC

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the form used by the U.S. Department of Education to determine your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) by conducting a “need analysis” based on financial information, such as income, assets and other household information, which you (and your parents if you are a dependent student) will be asked to provide. The form is submitted to, and processed by, a federal processor contracted by the U.S. Department of Education (ED), and the results are electronically transmitted to the financial aid offices of the schools that you list on your application.

FAFSA is the application used by nearly all colleges and universities to determine eligibility for federal, state, and college-sponsored financial aid, including grants, educational loans, and work-study programs.

Everyone fills these out and you can do it online and update it as often as you need to.

If you are applying for college check with your schools and ask about scholarship from local companies.  A lot of people miss out because they don't ask and you would be surprise on how much money is out there and how easy it is to get.  Some only takes an application and others a siimple letter asking for it or something about yourself. Check with the school you are interested in a counslor or guidant adviser would be preferable.  If you have a handicapp check with there disability officer for classroom accomaditions or services.

If your parents can pay everything you are pretty well off but most parents can't afford the rising high out of control tutition fees.

    Good Luck!!!

  5. No the FAFSA does not mean you are poor it knows that not everyone can pay for school by themselves. So it helps people out how help they can recieve from the government.

  6. FAFSA "federal application for student aid"

It opens you up to get scholarships and grants if you are poor enough yes. But poor is a relative term.

You can fill it out online, but do it once you know all the schools you are applying to, there are special codes for each school, if you're young enough, they ask what your parents make and other private questions.
