  1. - Nasal Prongs are estimated to delivery a maximum FiO2 of .40 or 40%. They are not appropriate for patients with respiratory distress.

    - Venturi Masks The colour of the device reflects the delivered oxygen concentration: 24%: blue; 28%: white; 31%: orange; 35%: yellow; 40%: red; 60%: green.

    - Non-rebreather mask delivers only one FiO2: 1.00 ( 100 % )

    - Hudson Tracheostomy Mask ( Proper name " Tracheostomy Mask ) has the oxygen flow through the nebulizer very restricted, therefore a special setup is required to administer FiO2 greater than .50. Do remember that constant rainout of humidity in tubing can alter FiO2.

    - Aerosol Mask works exactly the same as a Tracheostomy

    Mask.

  2. Hi Peter!

Let me try and answer your queries.

    1. Nasal prongs: Cannot measure the FIo2 when we use this , thats why we only talk about flow in litres per min. But we deliver up to 30 %.

    2. Hudson mask: Again this is a variable performance mask. This can deliver up to 40% of FIo2.

3.Venturi mask: Can deliver 30% 40% and 50% depending on the flow rates of 10, 12 15 liters per min respectively.

4.NRBM can deliver 80% when both the valves are open,  90% when one of them is open and 100% when both the valves are closed.

Hope you are satisfied with this answer!!
