The Geneva conventions consist of four treaties made in Geneva, Switzerland (hence the name Geneva Conventions) the treaties set the standards on international law for humanitarian concerns. They are generally formulated towards the proper treatment of wounded, captured, and shipwrecked of service members, the last treaty concerns the protection of non-combatants in time of war.
