any order - like you bet on A to finish first & B to finish second - but you also win the bet if B finishes first and A finishes second.

And how much that does that bet cost?

Thanks!

  1. win

    place and

    show

  2. Its an quinella, and you can put in the bet for $2, but you only win half of the exacta payout.  If you bet $4, you would win the exacta payout.

If there arent alot of horses racing in the race, say a field of 6, they may not let you bet quinellas.

  3. Yes, it's called an Exacta where I've been (Ky and Oh).

And it's Exacta Box to get them in either order.

  4. The first poster is right, but not all States offer quinellas.  An "Exacta Box" is the bet you would make, they are taken anywhere in North America.

You pay the amount of $ you want to bet multiplied by each combination, the minimum you can bet is a $1 Exacta Box making the bet a minimum of $2 (2 combos) or if you want a $100 exacta box it will cost you $200.   Therefore if you make a $1 exacta box on #1 and #2 your bet will cost $2 ($1 for 1 and 2, $1 for 2 and 1).  A $1 bet only gets you half of the payout though you must bet $2 for the full payout, making it a $4 bet.  If you add a third horse to the mix a $1 exacta box would cost $6 (1 and 2, 1 and 3, 2 and 1, 2 and 3, 3 and 1, 3 and 2, making 6 combos).

Just make sure you say "Box" when you are making your bet, an ordinary "Exacta" means you have to get them in the exact order you put them on your ticket.

Hope this wasn't too confusing, good luck.
