  1. the le berro is a player that can go on and off the court for anyone in the back row without having to go up for a sub.  and they can also serve for one player! thats pretty much it oh and they cant cross the 10 foot line.

  2. Hey Thats my position!!! I love being libero, well a lebero weres the opposite colors of what your team is weareing. Or contrating colors. They also are the best passers on the team, they dont have to be tall cuz they dont play in the front row, but they are usually the fastes ones on the team. Hope this can help!!!

  3. The libaro is a recent addition to the sport of volleyball.  He/she is basically a back-row specialist.  They are required to wear a uniform that contrasts with the rest of the team for identification purposes.  They can substitute in and out without notifying the referee and without counting as a substitution against your team.  However, when they substitute out, they must be replaced by the player they first substituted for.  Most of the time, they cannot serve except for certain NCAA allowances.  They are also prohibited from attacking a ball that is above the net and setting a ball in front of the 10ft (or 3 meter) line.

Typically, the libero is one of the better passers and back row defenders on the team.

  4. the libero of the team wears the different color jersey to show that he/she can go in for another player without it being a substitution, as well as to be easily tracked

  5. The libero can go in back row for any player without having a substitution. They can come out at any time between points and then can go in for a different person after the next point.

  6. In 1998 the libero player was introduced internationally, the term meaning free in Italian; the NCAA introduced the libero in 2002. The libero is a player specialized in defensive skills: the libero must wear a contrasting jersey color from his or her teammates and cannot block or attack the ball when it is entirely above net height. When the ball is not in play, the libero can replace any back-row player, without prior notice to the officials. This replacement does not count against the substitution limit each team is allowed per set, although the libero may be replaced only by the player whom they replaced.

The libero may function as a setter only under certain restrictions. If she/he makes an overhand set, she/he must be standing behind (and not stepping on) the 3-metre line; otherwise, the ball cannot be attacked above the net in front of the 3-metre line. An underhand pass is allowed from any part of the court.

Furthermore, a libero is not allowed to serve, according to international rules, with the exception of the NCAA women's volleyball games, where a 2004 rule change allows the libero to serve, but only in a specific rotation:-)
