  1. Latin genus name for a goat is caprine.

    HOpe i helped.

  2. The full scientific name of the domestic goat is Capra hircus - Capra being the genus name, and hircus being the species name. If you wished to refer to goats in the way you would refer to horses as equine or cows as bovine, you would refer to them as being caprine.

  3. hiiiii,

Latin genus for goats is capra

                          Horses is Equus

                          Cows is Bos.

what you have said is the name of the animal's family.....not the name of the animal...

    hope this helped you

  4. Equidae and Bovidae are actually Family names.

"A bovid is any of almost 140 species of cloven-hoofed mammals belonging to the Family Bovidae. The Family is widespread, being native to all continents except South America, Australia and Antarctica, and diverse: members include buffalo, bison, antelopes, gazelles, both wild and domesticated cattle, sheep, goats, and water buffalo."

    Goats are in a Sub-Family:

Subfamily Caprinae: sheep, goats, 33 species in 10 genera

The genus would be Capra. and then depending on what variety of goat, then you'd have the species name. Ex: Capra fantantistica.

So to sum up my rambling, goats are also bovines, but their Genus is Capra.

    Hope this helps!
