What is the MK1 shopsmith ?

I am looking to buy one , any advice ?

Shopsmith is a multi-purpose woodworking machine.

They are well made and a good machine. The down side is you have to change the configuration for each use.

Let's say you just finished using the drill press and now you are using the saw. You find you need to drill one more hole... you have to take the saw apart and set up the drill again.

I prefer separate tools for each purpose. I think you will be happier with individual machines
