  1. I'm going to guess you're referring to the month long flamenco festival in Madrid called "SUMA FLAMENCA" which starts in May.

Web: http://www.sumaflamenca.com/ . This is the official website but right at this moment I see it's down for some reason. Once it's UP, you can see the line-up of performers, dates, and locations. Ticket prices vary.

I can tell you that it runs from 17 of May to 15 of June 2008. It's the 3rd annual Suma Flamenca festival and this year they'll have 60 concerts/shows throughout the city of Madrid. These are not generally flamenco dancing shows - although there are a few - but mainly flamenco singing and guitar playing.

Last year I attended 9 concerts but this year I'm going to 15 here in Madrid. Many many of the performances are taking place in the Teatro Albéniz in Madrid (web: http://www.madrid.org/clas_artes/teatros... ) but also at the Circulo de Bellas Artes (web: http://www.circulobellasartes.com/ ).

IF, on the other hand, you were asking generally about flamenco in Madrid, well, it's more than alive and well. Madrid has some of the best flamenco dancers in Spain and a very high number of "flamenco tablaos" (places where they perform). Flamenco shows in Madrid are not very cheap, typically costing about 30+Euros per person for just the 1.5 hour show (and usually a free drink).

Hope you get to see a flamenco show when/if you go to Madrid! I can't wait myself.

    Saludos, BarcelonaMan(.com)
