  1. Mahabharat is an epic. It was written by the great sage Ved Vyas around 5000 years back. It is a single poem comprising of verses. It is the longest single poem ever written! While writing the Mahabharat, sage Vyas took the help of Lord Ganesh, who pointed out any flaws in recitation and corrected them. This epic text contains the story of the great battle fought between two cousin brother families- kauravas and pandavas. It also contains the verses of the Bhagwad Gita recited by Lord Krishna himself. This text signifies the victory of truth over evil. Here truth is Lord Krishna, who was with the pandavas. Mahabharat is written in Sanskrit, originally. It not only gives us the description of the greatest battle ever, but also makes us aware of the terrific science and technology avalaible with the Indians in those times.
