What is the Marine Corps Security Forces job like in Kings bay, Georgia? As much detail as you can give please

I am a Marine about to be stationed at Kings bay, Georgia. Could anyone tell me what Security Forces do there. We are gonna be in some kind of PRP program, whatever that is. How much time off do we get, and whats the schedule like. Thanks

My husband was stationed there for 2 years when he was in the Marine Corps.  Things were changing as we left, so this may not be so accurate anymore.  My husband basically said that they were glorified security guards.  You are standing watch over the subs nuclear weapons.  The last schedule he had was 7 days on, 4 days off, 6 days on 3 days off, then followed by 2 regular work weeks.  usually home during these two weeks between 4 and 5 and weekends off.  the other days you were gone 24 hrs a day for the whole time.  The base is in a great location though.  you will be about 45 minutes from Jacksonville, fl.   a lot of guys would drive to Savannah, Ft. Lauderdale, etc.  You will also be non-deployable for the time that you are in Kings Bay.  Hope you enjoy it.  We did.  PS Check out St. Augustine Beach!! Oh and watch out for the Navy MP's they have it out for the Marines.
