  1. There is no height limit for jockeys.  Just weight limit you must weigh around 112lbs..

  2. it's not your height that matters, it's your weight.  but the taller you are, the thinner you have to be to get the proper weight.  if you're short you have an advantage, but you can do it if you're tall.  You should aim to be under 110 when you start riding because as an apprentice jockey you get a 5 pound weight allowance so your horses carry 5 pounds less than the other horses in the race.  In low level races, horses can carry 112, so that means your horse gets to carry 107.  Once you've won enough races you lose that weight advantage, so you can gain a few pounds.

Just stay thin enough and you can easily become a jockey no matter how tall you are.  Good luck!

  3. It's not height, it's weight, they want you at or under 100 lbs.

  4. there is none. I know two of them that are 5ft. 10in., but you must weigh under 115lbs.(some states under 112)

  5. you can be as tall as shaq o neal but 1/3 of his weight.

  6. No height. :)

    I wanna be a jockey, too and I'm 5'6".

I still need to loose weight, though.....in the US max weight is 115.

My friend Kyle is a jock....he's not thin.....but he's short....so he doesnt really qualify....lol he mostly trains....maybe I'll race you someday!

  7. Your height doesn't matter as long as you can keep your weight down. I think the maximum weight is somewhere around 115lbs.

  8. I know a couple jockeys that are really tall...one being 5'6" and one being about 6".  Weight is the biggest part.  You really need to weigh under 123.

  9. dont worry about your height it is more about your weight most tracks jockey's are 100 to 115.....i was 103 when i started riding races but i had to loose a lot of weight to ride diet and exercise and i also started riding when i was 28 dont want to long so get out there now and find a good racing school to go to you can get your license when you are 16 at most tracts
